Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of JulineServices. By using the platform, you agree to these terms and any policies referenced here.
- Platform Role
JulineServices operates as a marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers. We facilitate bookings and payments but are not a party to the service agreement between customers and providers. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or completion of any service.
- Account Responsibilities
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your contact details up to date. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
- Booking Requests and Inquiries
Customers may submit two types of requests:
- Booking requests: include a contact name, phone number, and service location, and are intended to lead to a paid engagement.
- Inquiries: general questions or chat-based conversations with a provider, not tied to a payment.
- Quotes
Providers may send quotes in response to booking requests. Quotes include a service amount, description, and expiry period (default 72 hours). Previous pending quotes are automatically expired when a new quote is issued. Customers may accept or decline a quote before it expires.
- Payments and Booking Protection Fee
When a customer accepts a quote, they are required to pay the quoted service amount plus a non-refundable 3% Booking Protection Fee. This fee is charged to the customer and retained by JulineServices to cover platform costs and dispute resolution support. Providers receive the service amount only — no fee is deducted from the provider's earnings.
All payments are processed securely through Paystack. By proceeding to payment, you agree to Paystack's terms and privacy policy.
- Payout Hold Period
Once a customer's payment is confirmed, the provider's payout is placed on hold for 48 hours. This hold period exists to allow time for dispute resolution before funds are released. Payouts are released automatically after the hold period if no dispute has been raised.
- Completing a Job
Customers are expected to mark a booking as completed once the service has been satisfactorily delivered. Marking a job as completed does not affect the 48-hour payout hold timer, which begins at the time of payment.
- Disputes
Customers may raise a dispute while a booking is in progress and the payout is still held. Disputes must be submitted with a written reason. Once a dispute is raised, the payout is frozen and reviewed by JulineServices administrators. The dispute will be resolved as either:
- Release: funds are transferred to the provider.
- Refund: the full service amount is refunded to the customer's original payment method. Refunds typically take 5–10 business days to appear.
The 3% Booking Protection Fee is non-refundable in all cases.
- Cancellations
Customers may cancel an open booking request at any time before payment is made. Once payment has been confirmed, cancellation is no longer available — customers must use the dispute process to seek resolution.
- Provider Obligations
Providers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and the quality of the services they deliver. Providers must have a verified bank account registered on the platform to receive payouts.
- Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in fraudulent activity, misrepresent their identity, abuse the dispute process, or attempt to bypass platform payments for services initiated through JulineServices.
- Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
